About this cartoon: The election of Donald Trump might not have happened were it not for active Russian meddling, hacking into computer servers and selectively releasing private emails based solely on damaging Hillary Clinton. Trump, who was clearly a willing accomplice to the meddling, repeatedly dismissed the consensus reports of major U.S. intelligence agencies that fingered Russia and its leader, Vladimir Putin, in the interference with a democratic U.S. election. Some leading Republicans were openly alarmed but many said nothing — had Hillary Clinton been the beneficiary of Russian meddling, there is no doubt that calls of "treason" would be loud and ubiqitous from the Republicans.
